Around June 1962, Custer Regional Hospital was opened with an aim to provide world-class aid and treatment to its local people as well its travelers. It is a sixteen-bed hospital that provides its patients with acute care facility. There are two Rural Health Clinics that are operated and managed by this Custer Regional Hospital. One of the Rural Health clinics can be found in Custer and the other is located in Hill City, South Dakota. Custer Regional Hospital also provides living facility accompanied with seventy-six bed long-term care facility.
